Building Envelope Technician

Description

"Building Envelope Technician" means a person who, for all types of buildings, does

(a) the measuring, handling, cutting, preparation, installation, removal, repair, replacement and sealing of all types of the external portion of walls of various types, including:

  • wall/foundation interface,
  • wall/roof interface,
  • openings in walls such as windows and doors, and electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other penetrations

(b) the application and/or installation of:
  • sheathing membrane,
  • windows and doors,
  • flashing,
  • self-adhered membrane,
  • strapping.

Certification Challenge Application
The Challenge Application Package for this trade is currently under development. Over the next several months the ITA will be working with Industry Training Organizations and other Industry Partners to develop the Challenge Application Packages for this trade. An Application Package will be mailed to you as soon as it is available.

Equivalency Status Application
The Equivalency Application Package for this trade is currently under development.
