Electronics Communications Technician

Description

An Electronics Communications Technician is a person who installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs data and communication systems, equipment and cabling on computer networking, telephone, security and other related data systems.

These workers install equipment in buildings, therefore they mostly work indoors. Much of their work consists of upgrading wiring in existing buildings however, many new buildings are prewired for electronic equipment so these workers also do a lot of system installations. Generally, they work daytime and weekday hours, though some may be on call around the clock.
