Update on the Residential Construction Industry Training Organization (RCITO) The Industry Training Authority (ITA) will not be renewing its fee-for-service agreement with the Residential Construction Industry Training Organization (RCITO) as of April 1, 2012. RCITO has been responsible for six ITA-designated trades, including the Residential Building Maintenance Worker (RBMW) program for which you are registered. Management of these programs has now shifted to ITA.
What does this mean if I am an apprentice Residential Building Maintenance Worker? ITA will continue to support you throughout your apprenticeship so that you are able to acquire both your Residential Building Maintenance Worker Certificate of Qualification and Certificate of Apprenticeship. Description
"Building Maintenance Worker" means a person who maintains and repairs residential buildings (single family unit, multi-unit, high rise) including minor carpentry, drywall, electrical, floorlaying, painting, plumbing, refrigeration mechanic and roofing repairs, maintenance, installation, inspection, testing and troubleshooting (as per BC Safety Authority legislation and regulations).
