The ITA Immigrants in Trades Training initiative can connect immigrants to trades training opportunities across B.C. Training is available for all 140+ recognized trades.
The initiative is unique because it offers financial and other supports to help each immigrant overcome specific obstacles to employment. Supports may include English classes, free tools and equipment, an introduction to employers, and much more.
Trades training partners include schools, non-profit and industry associations that take an active role in preparing immigrants for trades careers. Current training partners include: the BC Construction Association (BCCA), Diversecity and S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
