Training programs |
The ITA Women in Trades Training initiative can connect women to trades training opportunities across B.C. Training partners include schools, unions and industry associations that take an active role in preparing women for trades careers.
Current training partners include: the BC Construction Association (BCCA), Camosun College, Okanagan College, Piping Industry Apprenticeship Board (PIAB), Tradeworks, United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and Vancouver Island University (VIU). Each training partner offers counselling to help you find the right career fit, training to get you job-ready, financial and other supports to help women overcome obstacles to training, and connections to employers who can provide paid, on-the-job apprenticeship positions.
You can find out more about training programs by contacting our training partners directly, or by calling the central number at 1-866-660-6011, or e-mailing info@womenintrades.ca.
