The College of New Caledonia (CNC) constructed two new trades and technology centres in Prince George and Quesnel in 2011 where they offer trades and industry programs. The ITA funds a reintegration program for Paroled Federal Offenders who are directly referred to the program through Corrections Services Canada. See program description below.
Reintegration Industry Readiness Training
A 10 week job readiness and trade skills training program for participants who are Paroled Federal Offenders from the Prince George Corrections Centre. The program is delivered in partnership with Correctional Services Canada (Parole Board of Prince George and the Employment to Empowerment services) and Central Interior Regional Training.
The training is designed to produce a higher likelihood of positive labour market attachment and lower recidivism. Participants will receive comprehensive job readiness, life skills training, and job placement supports that include continuous counselling and follow up support throughout the program and post employment. Participants complete the program with up to 20 short term skills training certifications to support their employability in the trades and continuation into Apprenticeship.
