Hardwood Floorlayer

Hardwood Floorlayer means a person who installs, applies, replaces, repairs, sands, finishes, services and prepares both pre-finished and / or site finished hardwood and laminate floors. They also perform remedial work to prepare subfloors to accept new hardwood floors as well as any work generally performed by a journeyperson Hardwood Floorlayer."Hardwood Floorlayer" means a person who lays hardwood and wood strip/block flooring using nails, screws and/or adhesives.


If you are already enrolled in this program, your credential will still be granted upon completion. Once a program is designated "inactive," ITA will not register new apprentices in the program. This program is inactive due to low support from industry over the last five years.

Challenge Certification/Recognize Prior Experience

If you have significant work experience in a trade but have never been certified in Canada, you may apply to challenge the certification.


If you sponsor apprentices but have never been certified in Canada, you may request to supervise and sign-off apprentices when they are ready to be certified.
