Three online resources are serving a range of British Columbians — children and teens as well as job-seekers, employers and researchers in all sectors.
- BC Job Trend Tracker delivers forecasts on regional and provincial labour market needs, including information like job demand, labour supply and employment rates and information on B.C. careers through 2020.
- The Build-a-Career Smartphone app explores more than 500 B.C. occupations, with regional job information, high-demand occupations, a map function to find local employment services and a career suitability quiz whose results can be shared by email or social media. The app is available for Android, iPhone and Blackberry and in web and iPad versions.
- Career Explorers is a 3-D online board game for British Columbians aged 8 to 12. Supported in both Windows and Mac OS environments, it's a fun and interactive way for children to "travel" the province and learn about the world of work.
The resources are part of the province's BC Jobs Plan and funded through the federal Research and Innovation Support Measure of the Canada-B.C. Labour Market Development Agreement.
