What is a record?
Records includes data, documents, books, maps, drawings, photographs, letters, vouchers, papers, and anything on which information is recorded or stored by graphic, electronic, mechanical or other means, but doesn’t include a computer program or any other mechanism that produces records.
At ITA, records can also include statistical analysis of ITA’s data such as apprenticeship completion rates, apprenticeship counts by region or trade.
How do I make a record request?
To make a general record request, you can either complete ITA’s General Record Request form or you can submit your request in writing.
For written requests, please include:
- Your contact information (for example, name, address, phone number, email)
- Detailed description of the record(s) you are requesting. Please be specific and include date ranges if applicable.
- Preferred method for receiving the record (for example, email, standard mail)

When will I receive a response to record request?
Once ITA receives your request, ITA has 30 business days to provide you with a response, subject to any extensions permitted under FOIPPA.
