Social Media Community Guidelines

ITA's social media channels are a place to encourage conversations and share diverse perspectives. These discussions will help us learn from one another and support B.C.’s trades community as a whole. We are rooted in our values of diversity, inclusion, respect, and collaboration. 

By choosing to engage and participate on our social media channels, whether through replies, comments, or direct messages, you are agreeing to the follow our Community Guidelines.  

In order to have a safe space where all groups can participate, we ask all users to be kind, stay on topic, and to treat each other with respect.  

Moderation Policy 
While differing opinions are welcome, our social media pages remains a place for respectful dialogue. We do not tolerate threats or insults toward other users or ITA employees. 
ITA reserves the right to remove any posts, comments, replies, or messages that containing: 

  • Defamatory language including name calling and personal attacks 

  • Profanity, vulgarity, or obscenity 

  • Hate speech particularly related to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity 

  • Spam or self-promotion 

  • Reference to any illegal activities 

If deemed necessary, we will block, ban, and/or report users who repeatedly violate our community guidelines to the full extent in which the social media platform allows.  

ITA Responses 
These accounts are monitored by ITA's Communications and Customer Service teams. We read all comments, replies, and direct messages and will respond within 48 hours if necessary. Please note that we will only respond during business hours of Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm PST. If you have any concerns about our page or these guidelines, contact us at

Collections Notice 

The personal information you post may be collected by ITA under s. 26(c) and 26(e) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purposes of engaging and consulting with the public. Please be aware that any information collected may be stored and/or accessed outside of Canada on servers not belonging to ITA. To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include in your comments any personal information including phone numbers or email addresses. We also request that you do not share personal information about others, including pictures.
