Horticulturist, Production

"Production Horticulturist" means a person who grows and markets crops in both nursery and/or greenhouse environments. Prepares growing mediums, propagates, grades, prunes and prepares plants for distribution. Controls plant pests utilizing appropriate pest management techniques.


If you are already enrolled in this program, your credential will still be granted upon completion. Once a program is designated "inactive," ITA will not register new apprentices in the program. This program is inactive due to low support from industry.

Challenge Certification/Recognize Prior Experience

If you have significant work experience in a trade but have never been certified in Canada, you may apply to challenge the certification.


If you sponsor apprentices but have never been certified in Canada, you may request to supervise and sign-off apprentices when they are ready to be certified. Please refer to the application form on whether this trade qualifies.
